Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that at the time of Ferny Grove High School's opening in 1980 the then multi-purpose shelter was intended to service a much smaller school population. School numbers have grown considerably in the past forty years in line with community development. A new facility is urgently required to ensure the school can continue to deliver exceptional educational, cultural and sporting programs.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to prioritise funding for the construction of an upgraded facility to meet the growing demands of Ferny Grove State High School and the wider community.
