The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the status of the ‘Tateyama Maru’, beached on the western shores of Gloucester Island.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to remove the ‘Tateyama Maru’ from its current position in the Gloucester Island National Park to avoid any further visual pollution and to ensure it causes no further environmental damage to the Whitsunday Islands, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and adjacent mainland in the Cape Gloucester area.
