The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House concerns raised by the community that the current speed limit of 100km/h on the D'Aguilar Highway - from 500m west of the Kilcoy-Somerset Road intersection, to the current 80km/hr zone heading east into Kilcoy - is too fast and has resulted in many near misses and one fatality at the Kilcoy-Somerset Road intersection.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to decrease the speed limit on this section of Highway, and begin the 80km/h limit on the D'Aguilar Highway (near Kilcoy) at approximately 500 metres west of the Kilcoy-Somerset Road intersection (with the D'Aguilar Highway) and adjoin the 80km/hr section currently in place on entry to the Kilcoy township.
