TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House concerns about Abortion Law Reform (Woman's Right to Choose) Amendment Bill 2016. We agree:

1. that no one has the right to take the life of another human being;
2. a community mentality that says Abortion (the killing of a human being) is okay could be paving the way for other forms
of violence, especially towards young unwanted children from unstable relationships;
3. an abortion can affect the mental health of the mother which in some cases leads to mental health issues including
suicide;
4. conscientious medical staff must be affected when they witness the struggle of the baby who sometimes survives the
abortion and is left to die - this should never be allowed to happen.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to reject this Bill and promote a culture of life by finding ways to help mothers through their decision making when faced with an unwanted pregnancy; through sensible adoption laws, childless couples, who long for children, would be given the chance to be the good parents that society needs and cherishes.
