The petition of the residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the removal of the bus stop at the junction of Gympie Road and Stay Place, Carseldine.

There are currently 121 units in Stay Place, as well as a 41 unit motel. This bus stop has serviced local residents, including a number of school children, for more than 20 years through both the Redcliffe 680 Bus Service and a private bus line.

Many of the local residents are elderly and will find it difficult to walk a further 700m to the next closest bus stop - greatly impacting their ability to interact with the wider community and reducing their independence.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to retain the bus stop at the junction of Gympie Road and Stay Place, Carseldine.
