TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House to tar seal the remaining 50km of the 179km Clermont-Alpha Highway Link road for the life safety of our local children attending the Mistake Creek School and to help prosper Clermont and Alpha as true crossroads towns, linking three main highways (Gregory Highway, Peak Downs Highway, Capricorn Highway) and also linking to the Alpha-Tambo Highway Link road and the Alpha-Blackall Highway Link road.  Beneficial also for the transportation of equipment and goods and tourist traffic to the inland outback and vice versa to Moranbah, Mackay and the central coast, as well as all localities south and north in Queensland. Safety and Queensland economy benefits.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to tar seal the remaining 50km of dirt road from north of the Mistake Creek School to the Belyando River boundary of the Isaac Regional Council.
