TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the ongoing threats and perpetration of violence and aggression against Queensland Ambulance Paramedics.

 

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to 1. undertake a trial of Queensland Ambulance Paramedics to be equipped with body cameras to allow activation as required by paramedics to record any acts or threats of aggression or violence against them during the course of their duties; 2. conduct a trial for a period of nine months within the Gold Coast Region, with a full review of the effectiveness of the body cameras to be conducted; 3. put in place a public awareness program to promote the importance of a paramedics and educate the public about the serious consequences of violence and aggression towards paramedics.
