TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that as the major centre of the southern area of Redland City, Victoria Point is experiencing exponential growth in residential and other development. Noticeably, crimes such as drug offences, vandalism, violence, stealing, break and enters and hooning are increasing at an alarming rate. The need for a local police presence is long overdue.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure that funding and resources be allocated as soon as possible for the installation of a police facility (Police Station or Police Beat) at Victoria Point, to improve access to police and to improve local security, response times and crime prevention.
