Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that water prices and rates have increased over $500 in the last three years in Moreton Bay Region. In response, the Queensland Competition Authority handed down a report on April 1 recommending a freeze in bulk water charges for  Moreton Bay Region instead of a $49/year increase. The State Government has failed to respond to this report.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure that the State Government urgently adopts the recommendation to freeze Moreton Bay Region bulk water prices on July 1, 2015 to avoid residents suffering a further cost increase.
