The petition of residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House that a proposed access road/s to service the soon to be built Rothwell Station on the Petrie to Moreton Bay Rail Link will have a significant impact on an already congested Rothwell roundabout (intersection of Anzac Avenue and Deception Bay Road). TMR traffic modeling has predicted that even a moderate increase in traffic through the intersection will result in reduced safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists as well as creating significant gridlock during peak traffic flow am and pm.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to bring forward funding to provide for the long overdue improvements of the intersection to coincide with the opening of the Rothwell Railway Station in 2016.
