The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the dangerous condition of the causeway on the Torbanlea/Pialba Road. The causeway floods the Torbanlea/Pialba Road regularly after rain events and is the principal access road to Hervey Bay for residents of Howard, Torbanlea, Pacific Haven and Burrum Town. It is also the only access road to the region's ICU hospital unit during severe rain events. The road also services Torbanlea State School and Hervey Bay High Schools.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to urgently undertake upgrades to make the causeway on the Torbanlea/Pialba Road an all-weather road by raising the causeway on the eastern side of the Torbanlea School.
