TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House Fairholme College's main entrance is on Wirra Wirra Street, which is appropriately school zoned at 40 km/h. However, the driveway entrance on Wirra Wirra Street is in very close proximity to its intersection with Bridge Street - Bridge Street being a 60km/h zone with limited visibility when cars are parked roadside. In peak traffic periods, such as drop-off and pick-up, this intersection represents a high-risk area for collisions between emerging traffic and more importantly a danger to the physical well-being of our students and families.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to change the traffic zoning on Bridge Street, just east of Fairholme Street intersection through to Simla Street intersection, from 60 km/h to be school zoned at 40 km/h.
