Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that we believe the Tablelands Regional Council is incapable of performing its roles and responsibilities. 

The Tablelands Regional Council are continually in breach of the 5 local government principles which are:-

i. transparent and effective processes, and decision-making in the public interest; and
ii. sustainable development and management of assets and infrastructure, and delivery of effective services; and
iii. democratic representation, social inclusion and meaningful community engagement; and
iv. good governance of, and by, local government; and
v. ethical and legal behaviour of councillors and local government employees.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to call upon the Hon. Minister for Local Government to:-

1) immediately dismiss the Tablelands Regional Council, and
2) appoint an interim administrator and advisory committee, and
3) make regulatory provisions for the administrator and advisory committee to serve until the next quadrennial elections in March 2016.
