TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the intersections of: Mt Lindesay Hwy and Wearing Rd, Nth Maclean (BP service station); Mt Lindesay Hwy and Greenbank Rd, Nth Maclean; and Mt Lindesay Hwy and St Aldwyn Rd, Nth Maclean. These intersections are VERY HIGH ACCIDENT ZONES, unsafe and accidents are very frequent.

In recent months, the intersection of Mt Lindesay Hwy and Wearing Rd, Nth Maclean, sadly claimed the life of a 19 year old woman, whilst she was making a right hand turn onto Wearing Rd.

Also I, as the Principal Petitioner, was involved in an accident on the 28/01/14. Whilst stationary waiting to do a right hand turn onto Wearing Rd, to travel to my home, a vehicle travelling at approximately 90 kms/hr ran into the back of me.

All the local residents and general public are in fear of this happening to them whether they are trying to turn onto the Mt Lindesay Hwy or whether they are making a turn onto Wearing Rd from the Mt Lindesay Hwy.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to seek the IMMEDIATE attention of the Logan City Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads to make these intersections safe for the local residents and the general public and not wait for another 5+yrs for the Mt Lindsay Hwy upgrade.
