TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the upcoming removal of human resources from the Special Education Program at Loganlea State High School.  Increased class sizes and an increasing complexity of students enrolled at the school has resulted in high levels of support and intervention for students with disabilities. Loss of staff members specialist teachers and teacher aides will result in decreased opportunities for students to receive appropriate educational outcomes.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to leave teacher and teacher aide staffing as was allocated in 2012, in order to allow staff to appropriately cater for individual student requirements.
