Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House that there is a lack of knowledge regarding the dangers of shallow water hypoxia (shallow water blackout).  This means that normal games and activities that are played in backyard pools every day are threatening lives, particularly those of children.  Warning signs are already compulsory in the United States.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to help educate the citizens of Queensland on the nature of shallow water hypoxia and include a warning regarding the dangers of extended underwater breath holding on existing compulsory CPR pool signage.
