This petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House their request that the 361 mature koala habitat trees in the proposed housing development site at Lot 8-48 Alma Road (Alma Park Zoo) not be cut down.  The residents also ask that consideration be given to the possibility of the Department of Environment purchase that land for a koala habitat.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to recommend that the State Government purchase the land for future koala preservation.
