The residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the need for the purchase of land and subsequent construction of a new police station in Ormeau, preferably on the western side of the M1. A 24 hour police station is required to meet the increasing needs due to the growth in population in the surrounding area. A new station will ease the pressure on the neighbouring police stations at Coomera and Beenleigh. The extra police presence will help to make the Albert community a safer place to live and work.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to:  give priority to the planning and future construction of a new police station for Ormeau.
