TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the Parliamentary Social Development Committee recommendation 4 from their inquiry into addressing cannabis-related harm in Queensland, (Report 10, November 2010) requesting a consultative committee consisting of representatives from relevant government agencies and community sector agencies to have input into developing, monitoring and evaluating Queensland drug policy.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to implement the recommendation by establishing an Alcohol and Drug Advisory Committee to the Minister for Health consisting of representatives from relevant government agencies and community sector agencies.
