The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House an excessive increase of 10% in average valuation for all 600 properties fronting canal land on Runaway Islands, compared with an increase of 3% for the Gold Coast as a whole.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to have the Hon Kate Jones MP, Minister for Environment and Resource Management, review the valuation for this group of properties and to explain to the residents the reasons for such increase.
