Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the lack of medical services for the Cooloola Coast region.  In particular, the lack of a public / community hospital for local residents who are required to rely upon the local Queensland Ambulance Service or medivac services when needing urgent medical care.  This places increasing pressure on the local Ambulance Service who have to transport patients large distances to the nearest hospital at Gympie and leaving the area with a reduced Ambulance Service.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to provide funding for the establishment of a public / community hospital in Tin Can Bay to service the Cooloola Coast region and its many visitors.
