TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that at present anyone can practice as a Quantity Surveyor regardless of qualifications or experience. We need licensing similar to Architects, Valuers, Engineers, etc to ensure that standards are maintained and delivered by qualified professionals.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to enact legislation that requires registration and licensing of Quantity Surveyors ensuring registered Quantity Surveyors have relevant degree qualifications experience. Legislation to be similar to the Architect Act 2002.
