Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that many residents, particularly children and the elderly, cross Burnett Street, Buderim (east of Townsend Road) in order to access the Lions Park, Guide Hut and bus stops.  Burnett Street carries significant traffic and there is no pedestrian crossing in the vicinity.  Recently a young pedestrian was hit by a car when trying to cross the road at this point and residents believe it is only a matter of time before there is a fatality or serious injury if a proper crossing is not provided.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to urgently install a pedestrian crossing in Burnett Street, Buderim, east of Townsend Road (adjacent to the Lions Park), to ensure the safety of the many pedestrians who use this crossing point.
