Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the proposal by the Department of Transport and Main Roads to close Whitfield Street access to the Captain Cook Highway at Aeroglen.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to reconsider the proposed permanent closure to vehicular traffic of the Whitfield Street / Captain Cook Highway access and consider alternative measures to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users as well as reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.
