Queensland Citizens draws to the attention of the House the lack of genuine consultation, decision making and the powers, state citizens have in relation to development applications.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to amend the Queensland Sustainable Planning Act so the state citizens are given the right to a compulsory three month consultation period after the initial acceptance of the development plans. No development may proceed without a regions majority vote in a residential or part residential area other than the standard recognised family home. Additionally, your petitioners request the act is binding and not re-interpretable by local government.
