The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the unacceptable delay by at least two years of the opening of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Kawana.  This delay will be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of Sunshine Coast residents and the local economy.  A return to the original promised timeframe of opening in 2014 is essential.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to adhere to the Government's original promise that stage one of the project which consists of 450 beds, is completed by 2014.
