The petition of electors of the Electorates of Kawana, Caloundra and neighbouring areas draws to the attention of the House the delay by at least two years of the opening of the University of the Sunshine Coast Hospital in Kawana.  This delay will be detrimental for local residents and families and a return to the original promised timeframe is essential.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to adhere to the original commitment that stage one of the project which consists of 450 beds, is completed by 2014 as initially promised to the local community.
