The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the moves to change Employment Awards from the Education Industry Award to the Children's Services Award for Community Kindergarten Employees, namely, teachers and teacher aides. Your petitioners therefore request the House to please reconsider these changes as the communities involved fear that we will be unable to retain qualified professional teaching staff to educate our children in a Pre Preparatory Institution prior to formal schooling. With Prep being one of the Queensland Labor Governments improvements towards educating our future leaders and inspiring younger generations, it seems fitting that students should not be disadvantaged by reducing the educational experiences they will receive before beginning in Prep the following year.
