Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House the need to install safety barriers between the north and south bound lanes of the M1 between Exit 73 and Exit 79 to prevent further fatalities along this dangerous stretch of the M1 where 10 fatalities and over 64 hospitalisations as the result of accidents have occurred in this area.Your petitioners therefore request the House to immediately install safety barriers between the north and south bound lanes of the M1 between Exits 73 and 79 prior to the commencement of the upgrade of the M1 to 6 lanes.
