TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that due to the restructuring of the Queensland Government, the previous Ministerial position of Minister for Seniors’ was not included in the Bligh Labor Government’s post-election Ministry. The responsibility for Seniors issues has been spread over four other ministries, which has not proved a satisfactory solution for either the residents or the relevant Ministers. All other States have a Minister for Seniors. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House and Premier to re-instate the position of Minister for Seniors responsible for all matters relevant to that portfolio.
