TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House, the congestion around the Woombye State School as a result of the volume of traffic that uses the Woombye to Palmwoods Road, especially before, during and after school hours. Your petitioners therefore request the House to ensure that: • Pine Grove Road is not upgraded to become a major access road to the town of Woombye and that traffic movements on this road are kept at a minimum. • Traffic lights are installed at the Blackall Street intersection with the Nambour Connection Road and access to the town and exits from it remain open in all directions. • The speed limit in the vicinity of the Blackall Street intersection with the Nambour Connection Road be reduced to 60kph and that fixed speed cameras be installed north and south of the approaches to the intersection.
