TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws the attention of the House to major problems being experienced by residents of Tugun, Currumbin and Currumbin Waters following extensive construction works associated with the desalination plant at Tugun. These residents feel they are being treated as second rate citizens and cannot tolerate further deterioration in their lifestyles and properties. As a matter of urgency we seek a guarantee from the Queensland Government that properties and streets be restored to their original condition. As well we seek the relocation of the Tugun Football Club as a matter of urgency.
