Electors of Cairns draws to the attention of the House the unfair and one sided lease agreement currently in place at the Cairns Convention Centre which is seriously financially disadvantaging the Cairns Taipans. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to support a fair and equitable renegotiation of the Cairns Taipans lease agreement at the Cairns Convention Centre, to provide the Cairns Taipans with a percentage share of concession product sold at all home games, right to nominate product categories at home game, right to nominate and award security contracts for home games, a reduction in venue hire fees, preference on venue availability for home games, transparent reporting, right to nominate and control corporate catering at home games and consultation and joint say in setting concession pricing at home games.
