Electors of Southern Downs draws to the attention of the House: A Juror, suffering injury whilst attending Jury Service, is not precluded from obtaining protection of the Workers’ Compensation Act 2003 as a worker, under Schedule 2 Part 1 of this Act. Further, application of the Jury Act 1995 Section 7 – 63/64 does not limit a Juror from being accepted under the Workers’ Compensation Act 2003. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to: That a Juror being required to attend a place at a given date and time – and a contract is formed between their self and the Department of Justice by the payment of money. Hereby making a Juror also a ‘worker’.
