Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the Kenmore by-pass is a costly road proposal that will have a devastating affect on southern Kenmore and Fig Tree Pocket while not solving any transport problems because it will simply funnel onto the already log-jammed Western Freeway. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to not build the Kenmore by-pass road and instead provide greater funds for public transport in Brisbane’s west including seriously investigating new public transport infrastructure like a rail link and "park and ride" from the Ipswich railway line to the Bellbowrie area to remove the need for people to commute by car.
