The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the "fifth option" for a Walkerston bypass via Mackay and the serious problems that will be caused in the event that this becomes the favoured option. Your petitioners request the House to commit to removing the fifth option as one of the options being put forward by the Department of Main Roads in respect of the Walkerston bypass due to the unsafe traffic impacts, social and environmental conflicts that adopting the fifth option will cause.
