Born Brisbane, 29 January 1969. Married, one son, one daughter. Educated, Loreto College, Coorparoo. Graduate Diploma in Communication Practice, Queensland University of Technology, 1991. Bachelor of Arts, The University of Queensland, 1988.  Prior to election, principal of Dianne Reilly Communications, a public relations consultancy firm offering specialist services in occupational health and safety, vocational education and training.  Worked as a Policy Officer in the public sector and as a Public Relations/Communications Manager with the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE and the Gold Coast Campus of Griffith University. Interests include bushwalking, sewing, weights training, art, and reading fiction.
