Born Brisbane, 1 July 1944. Married, two sons, one daughter. Educated at St Laurence's Christian Brothers College and University of Queensland. Prior to election - General Manager, Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland (Toowoomba Showgrounds) and of the Toowoomba Greyhound Racing Club. Formerly engaged in farming, livestock production and professional Rugby League. Member or patron of various Toowoomba clubs and organisations. Interests - agricultural shows, Rugby Union, horse riding, livestock breeding.
