Personal

Born Hong Kong, 4 March 1959. Married with three daughters.

Bachelor of Engineering, University of Queensland, 1984. Qualified Engineer. Prior to election: Chief Executive of a multi-disciplinary consultancy, including planning, architecture, engineering and construction. Member of Queensland Small Business Advisory Council (from 1998 - 2001); Chair of Queensland Small Business Advisory Council (from 2001 to 2009) Memberships include The Institute of Engineers Australia; Registered Professional Engineers of Queensland; and Institute of Project Management.

Community involvement includes: Past Board Member of various community organizations such as churches, charity clubs and art organization. Honorary Ambassador for the City of Brisbane (from 1994), fostering economic and cultural ties between Brisbane and Asia Pacific countries; President  of the Valley Business Association  (1992 - 1996); Council member of the Queensland China Council of Queensland (from 1998 - 2001);Selected as a torchbearer for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Believe in natural justice, family as the nucleus of our society, respect for our seniors, encouragement and nurturing of young people, free health care and education for everyone, value of our environment, a fair day's pay for a fair day's work and small business as the backbone of our economy.

Interests include music, movie, reading and cooking.
