Indigenous Youth Parliament

2011 Indigenous Youth Parliament

On 30 June 2011, the third annual Indigenous Youth Parliament was held at the Queensland Parliament. This event was held as part of the Young Indigenous Leadership Program which is run in partnership by the Queensland Parliament with the Department of Communities’ Office for Youth and Xstrata Coal. The Indigenous Youth Parliament saw Youth Members speak on matters of importance to them and debated a Youth Bill on education issues. Since 2009, a total of 117 young Indigenous people have participated in this program.
