Deaf community visit their Parliament, 6 October 2010

Members of Queensland’s deaf community were welcomed to Parliament House today by Speaker John Mickel.

The parliament’s first two hours of proceedings were interpreted into AUSLAN sign language by a team of six interpreters from Deaf Services Queensland as approximately 50 members of the deaf community observed their parliament in action.

This event was the fourth occasion that the Queensland Parliament has partnered with Deaf Services Queensland to celebrate the National Week of Deaf People.
