First anniversary of apology to the stolen generation, 14 February 2009

On 14 February 2009, the Queensland Parliament partnered with Musgrave Park Cultural Centre to commemorate the first anniversary of the Federal Government's apology to the Stolen Generations.

Speaker Mike Reynolds addressed the event, stating that the National Apology meant that Australians were, "Finally able to admit the truth about the failures of the past so that we can build a better future together."

Hundreds of people gathered on the rainy day to witness traditional dancers and hear speeches from Elders and members of the Stolen Generations.
