Parliament House School Tours

Parliament House offers tours for primary and secondary students.  For senior secondary students, a seminar program - which includes a tour - is also offered.

Primary/Secondary School Tour Information

Teachers are invited to book a tour of Parliament House for their primary and secondary class groups either by phone (07) 3406 7562 or by booking online.

These tours, provided by the Parliamentary Attendants, operate Monday - Friday between 9:30 am - 1:30 pm (see tour times below). The tours start at the Parliamentary Annexe and take approximately 1 hour 30 mins.  During the tour you will visit and learn about the Legislative Council (Red Chamber), the Honour Boards, the Mace, the Wind Yarn (the Parliament's didgeroo), the leadlight window, and, on non-sitting days, the Legislative Assembly (Green Chamber).  When Parliament is sitting, you will view the Parliament from the Legislative Assembly Gallery.  The tour includes a visit to the e-democracy display area where students will learn how they can be involved in Queensland's system of democracy.
